OVERVIEW OF TENNIS TEAMS

We currently host the following teams which are described by their USTA & ALTA levels, whether they focus on recreation and sharing playing time or focus on winning, and whether or not they currently need more players. The teams' captains and contact information are also provided.

NEW TEAM

MEN'S ALTA MID-LEVEL TEAM - This team will play during the fall and spring ALTA seasons.  The actual level is being determined.  Coached practice is currently being scheduled.  Please contact Jeff Allen if you are interested - JEFF ALLEN or 770-490-4155

WEEKDAY TENNIS TEAMS

WOMEN'S A-2 ALTA THURSDAY TEAM - This team plays during the fall and spring ALTA seasons.  We have coached practice on Tuesday mornings, currently for 1.5 hours beginning at 11:00.  Our coach is Meike Babel, a former ranked pro, college coach, and 2009 National Doubles Clay Court Champion, 35 and under age bracket.  Contact: Denise Black

SENIOR WOMEN'S 4.0 USTA WEDNESDAY TEAM - The seasons overlap with the fall and spring ALTA seasons, with the senior team beginning towards the end of the ALTA seasons.  Seniors plays three lines of doubles on Wednesday mornings beginning at 10:00.  We do not have team practice.  Currently, we are in need of Twin Lakes players.  To be on the team, you must have reached at least age 50 during the current calendar year.  Contact:  Connie Panter

SPRING & FALL WEEKEND ALTA TEAMS

During the spring and fall the only weekend teams are ALTA teams. The men's matches start Saturday 9 AM and the women's matches start Sunday 1 PM.

WOMEN'S ALTA A-2 TEAM - This Sunday women's team practices on Thursday evenings 7-8 PM. We currently have a roster of 18 women, which is historically the right amount for each season, but welcome players interested in playing a the mid-A level. We generally play our strongest pairs available each week. We all love tennis and like each other, too! Contact: Heidi Domescik or Sarah Rigby

WOMEN S ALTA B-8/C-1 Team - This team practices Monday nights from 7-8 p.m. Our matches are Sundays at 1 pm. We are currently accepting more players at certain levels. The team is currently captained by Kim Vickers and co-captained by Barbara Marschalk.

MEN'S ALTA A-5 TEAM - This team practices Tuesdays from 7 to 8 PM, and primarily plays its strongest players with the focus on winning. This team has enough players but would welcome new members who are USTA 4.0 or higher players (if you're 4.5 or above you could only play on the ALTA team). Charles Jeffrey captains the ALTA team.

MEN'S ALTA B-7 TEAM - This team practices Tuesdays from 8 to 9 PM. The team plays to win but the captains try to provide match play experience for all team members who actively participate in practice. The team welcomes new members who are USTA 3.0 or below. Paul Henderson (404-915-0009) captains the ALTA team.

SUMMER & WINTER USTA & MIXED DOUBLES WEEKEND TEAMS

In the summer matches start at:

Saturday, 9:00 AM for mixed doubles;
Sunday 12:30 PM for women's USTA;
Sunday 4:30 PM for men's USTA.

In the winter, start times are:

Saturday, 9:00 AM for men's USTA;
Saturday ,1:00 PM for women's USTA;
Sunday 1:00 PM for mixed doubles.

Teams include:

WOMEN S 3.0 USTA Team - This team practices Monday nights from 7-8 pm. Our matches are Saturdays at 12:30 p.m. during the winter season and at 1 p.m. on Sundays during the summer season. We are currently accepting more players for both our winter and summer teams. The team is currently captained by Robyn Binger and co-captained by Kim Vickers.

WOMEN'S 3.5 USTA TEAM - This team practices Thursday nights from 7:00 to 8:00. We have a big roster for the summer 2010 season, but we are accepting more level 3.5 Twin Lakes players for winter. The team is currently captained by Connie Dotson.

MEN'S USTA 4.0 TEAM - This team practices Tuesdays from 7 to 8 PM, and primarily plays its strongest players with the focus on winning. This team has enough players but would welcome new members who are USTA 4.0. Doug Hartline is the USTA captain.

MEN'S USTA 3.5 TEAM - Team practice is Tuesday nights at 9:00 pm. We are accepting new players for the summer season. We are competitive and play the strongest line-up per week. Captain is Jeff Allen

MEN'S USTA 3.0 & ALTA B-7 TEAMS - This team practices Tuesdays from 8 to 9 PM. The team plays to win but the captains try to provide match play experience for all team members who actively participate in practice. The team welcomes new members who are USTA 3.0 or below. Tim Ramsey (404-202-4127) is the USTA captain.

ALTA A-3 MIXED DOUBLES TEAM - This team plays during the ALTA winter and summer seasons on the weekends. We have coached practices with Mikhail Lvovich on Wednesday evenings. We strive to play all our players at least three times per season. Most play more frequently. We welcome Twin Lakes members. Contact: Denise Black or Milt Crouch

ALTA A-5 MIXED DOUBLES TEAM - This team has no coached practices since most of its members participate in men's or women's team practices. It primarily plays its strongest players with the focus on winning. This team has enough players but would welcome new members who are strong USTA 3.5 or higher players. Doug Hartline is the captain.Mixed doubles matches are in the winter (Sunday afternoons) and summer (Saturday mornings) with no spring or fall seasons

ALTA B-7 MIXED DOUBLES TEAM - This team has no coached practices since most of its members participate in men's or women's team practices. It currently has enough players but would welcome any Twin Lakes members. Mickie and Julie Stewart are the co-captains.
